Youth Rally 2009

“Get Out of the Boat” During the weekend of March 7th and 8th a group of 6 high school youth traveled to Lancaster, Ohio to participate in the annual Diocesan Youth Rally. The weekend was filled with guest speakers, music, skits, delicious food, and very little sleep. We sat up in the hotel lobby until 2AM talking about what it means to be Catholic in today’s world. Two of the highlights of the weekend were Reconciliation Saturday evening and Holy Mass on Sunday. The following summaries feature a small part of what the weekend was like:

My youth rally experience was amazing! When I first got there, I wasn’t expecting to have all that great of a time, but I ended up having a really great time! The first thing we did was have some praise time through song. Then there were some really enlightening speakers.. They really made me think.

It was really great! The speakers made me think about stuff that is going on in my life and how to deal with those situations. It taught me some ways to help talk to people at my school about their problems. All around, I just enjoyed it. The music, the speakers and the skits were awesome. Prayer time was great to get stuff off your chest. I also enjoyed meeting new people and realizing that all of them were Catholic!

The weekend of March 7th Scott, Leanne, Brett, Daniel, Melissa and I attended the Columbus Diocesan Youth Rally. Not only did we all grow closer to our faith, we grew closer to each other. We are hoping to bring what we learned back to our parish and share it with others. I attended two workshops, one on evangelization and one about Mary. I really learned a lot
